If you had told me - well, ever, that one of the most-often-worn pieces on my wardrobe would someday be a lemon yellow pleated tea-length skirt, I would have laughed. Probably for longer than was strictly polite. My favourite colours, ranked in order, were always purple, blue, red, pink... yellow fell at the bottom of the list, just above brown. [But only just. I'm actually a pretty big fan of brown.]
But this little lemon number from Club Monaco just somehow matches everything perfectly. [I mean that. I've worn it with purple.] And slipping on a bright skirt is without a doubt the easiest way to brighten up a dreary Vancouver day!

I LOVE seeing this skirt re-styled - it's such an amazingly beautiful piece. I can see why it's become a wardrobe staple... and it really is interesting to see what are most worn items end up being. This is skirt is so beautiful, I like everything about it! The length, the pleats... even the color. I don't think I own any yellow pieces, but I would always make an exception for a beauty like this one. Also a fan of that lace top with the cute buttons on the back. Very lovely look, Cee!

Hahaha, I've worn it with purple - that got me. It really is just the perfect yellow-y shade. And I love it so much with that pretty lace and the gorgeous structure in that coat. Very jealous of that coat.
ReplyDeleteI had never realized it before, but for the past few months yellow has been one of my favourite colours! I painted my room in two different shades of it this summer, and I still can't get enough of it! Which brings me to the point....I LOVE your skirt, and paired with the lace top and grey jacket, I think it makes for a perfectly ladylike look!

Most worn? and I can very much see why Cee. Isn't it funny how some items become much loved and worn and others cast aside.... seriously I feel a need for a yard sale coming on.
ReplyDeleteThis skirt reminds me of a popular style in the UK that was named the Carrie skirt, sold by a label Whistles. It sold out in no time at all and I couldn't understand it but it really was an incredibly versatile piece.
