Life is full of surprises - take, for example, The Conran Shop, a store that occupies one of the large buildings on rue de Babylone in Paris and used to be part of Le Bon Marché. Before Saturday afternoon, I had never been into the boutique because I thought, based on the impression that the exterior gives, that it was a place for elderly tourists. After my visit this weekend, I can tell you that it's something else entirely, a sort of haven for modern design enthusiastics, especially if you like housewares. [There is a direct link between this long paragraph and fashion, I promise...!] It was sort of the same thing with leather clothes. I had always shied away from wearing leather because I associated it with motorcyclists or, worse, with bondage. But I finally dared to try my hand at the trend with this delicately detailled Zara blouse and I fell in love with leather accents instantly. Leather is my new favourite trend - I think I may be on the verge of obsessed. What is your favourite trend for fall...?

Love that shirt!

this blouse gets the trend spot on! Good choice :)
ReplyDeleteThe leather detailing on that top is gorgeous! It's such a nice and subtle way to wear leather.
ReplyDeleteAgh I loooooove the top pally! And of course, I'm biased about that skirt - I think it's one of my all-time fave pieces from CM ever and I've always loved it on you. This is such a perfectly Parisian look, just like pretty much every single outfit you've worn since you've been there. Miss you tons but am so happy to see that you're loving life there!

Cee, that Zara top is heaven, and I too am normally one to shy away from leather, but, after seeing this beauty... I'm certain I need a sweater like that in my life too!! And your styling of it is heaven. It's funny how we can shy away from certain things and then end up loving them. I'm currently going through that with our home. I'm re-decorating and going for a minimalist look, which has never really been my thing. Life is full of surprises! ;)
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE your skirt. It's ah-mazing. Wish I could find a lookalike! :)
ReplyDeleteI was slow to warm to the leather trend too. I have a vintage leather skirt and a Zara leather jacket but I am most excited about my leather jeggings that should be here next week! When I blog about them, I'll let you know :) xoxox
ReplyDeleteI like this leather trend too and loving military as well as burgundy and baroque but there is lots of gorgeous micro trends.I'm not so big trend follower as much as I enjoy buying gorgeous pieces and getting excited and inspired.
ReplyDeleteYour leather detail blouse is fabulous piece and will be so great for versatile looks.

how cool is that top! those shoulder details make such great embellishments. and when combined with that brown'ish skirt it's definitely a brilliant autumn ensemble.
ReplyDeletewhen it comes to my favourite autumn trend I must say I don't actually have it and I wear whatever pops in my mind - burgundy, leather skirts, dark boots, studs, cool patterns, bold colours.. yeah, everything!

You always look like a princess on your photos ^_^ The skirt is just amazing! My favorite fall trend would be EVERYTHING :D This year, everything is just the way I like it, so sad, because my wallet is getting thinner :D
ReplyDeleteLovely! I love the detail of your top.
ReplyDeleteI felt the same way about leather until recently when I also realized how lovely a touch of leather on a beautiful piece can be. Adds a certain edge and textural interest. Love, love, love this look and miss your beautiful face so much. Not the same around here without you, AND I get slightly jealous looking at all your beautiful Parisian photo backdrops! We muuuuust skype soon!
ReplyDeleteI love this Zara top and until you mentioned it, I would never have guessed that the accent pieces were made of leather! Your pictures clearly show us all just how much you're enjoying your new home. My favorite trend this fall is also leather, whether in jacket form or when incorporated into a dress. Although I don't own anything of the kind just yet, I like the dresses I've seen where the sleeves are leather, or some other aspect of the dress is made of leather.
ReplyDeletesometimes it's the way the leather is molded or how it sits against the body that i question but your Zara piece is totally on the mark lades! i love this look, totally chic styles alongside the Conran Shop. never been in one myself but after your description i wouldn't turn away either :)
ReplyDeleteseeing your pretty face smiling and getting to peep in on you living out your dreams is really rad! xo ♥
Gorgeous blouse!
