My style is relatively defined - I love all things classic, neutral and feminine. I rarely experiment with the seasons biggest trends, because I prefer to wear exactly what I like than to spend a lot of time wondering whether I've made, or missed, the mark with an unusual new item. But, sometimes I restrict myself a bit too much. After all, fashion is about having fun. Case in point - when Aldo offered to let me choose a pair of choose, I almost immediately picked a pair of black, vintage-style heels... and then my friend Steph asked, "Why not try something different?" I now own a pair of zebra print flats and Steph is to blame. But since they are still neutral, I feel a bit like I'm thinking outside, but pressed right up against, the box...!
sentiers battus… !

I think those shoes were a good choice - adding a bit of something different (but still within your comfort zone) is always a good move.

Perfect! You made a great choice. I'm very similar in that I too stick to the classics with very few items thrown in my collection that resemble a current trend. I have to say, you've brought those zebra flats to new heights with that beautifully put together outfit. Love the jackets too!
ReplyDeletePerfect casual outfit ! Love how the zebra printed flats compliment that amazing tweed jacket !

I think that knowing your style is an accomplishment and something to be celebrated. Security breeds self-confidence. That being said, it's normal for our style to evolve as we move through different stages of our life. It's nice to see you keeping an open mind. For a Cee touch I could see you attaching a pair of vintage clip-on earrings or glueing a pair of matching brooches to these cute black-and-white shoes.
ReplyDeleteI love everything about this outfit! Great colour palette and the animal print touch of the shoes is simply great! I think I need one of those 'boucle' jackets as well...they are so cool and versatile!
