(Outfit Diary) Tout en noir

Since I arrived in Paris, I have no desire for colour. I wake up in the morning already contemplating the black clothes in my closet and how to recombine them. When I go shopping, I only take monochrome jackets and dresses into the fitting room. My dear friend, Bec, sent me a beautiful black leather La Mer watch for my birthday and I think it compliments my dark ensembles perfectly. I know that I've said it over and over, but I always feel more like myself in black and white than when I wear colours.

  1. I too have been drawn to black & white lately... and grey's. I'm not sure what's gotten into me but I'm loving more basic hues. And this is an example of black at it's finest, love the booties with this ensemble and the watch is gorgeous. Go Bec, what a sweet friend! Hope you had an amazing weekend Cee, miss you!! xo

  5. I love that when you wear head to toe black it still looks very interesting and chic. This top is gorgeous, I love it and that new watch is fantastic :)
I always wear a lot more black/darker colours this time of year, it feels good to leave behind the brights of summer for a more sophisticated palette.

  8. I feel like the monochrome is kind of Parisian. The style does often seem to be very chic and smart with leather jackets and black glasses.
I do love your hair here. I wish I knew how to do something so glamourous with my hair on just an ordinairy day.

  13. What? No color in Paris? :) Well it's alright because you look amazing in black. Black is no longer boring when you have black on, that's how amazing you make it. lol. No seriously, there's the misconception that black is blah, but I think when it's worn correctly it looks classy and timeless...I still can't get over how you have a striking resemblance to one of my fave actress, Marion Cotillard and she's from Paris too. :)

  20. It looks lovely on you - yeah! I have to say if there's any time to break out the all black (ok, that's most of the time I think) Paris is definitely the spot. And this whole ensemble looks great with the boots and the different textures :)

  21. You can say it over and over and I'd still listen about monochrome Cee! I love the sweater here - Kookai is a brand I would visit a few times back in London and you've got me thinking it's time to pay them another visit. I like your boots here - I just purchased some fall boots myself, yes even in Austin is gets chilly at times and they will work for London too. Cute outfit - an all black favourite of mine x

  22. Ahhh I love this Cee! You look so stunning, and while I love you in any colour, I think you definitely rock an all-black look better than anyone else. And is that wrap bracelet part of the watch? So cute. Miss you pally!

    1. Hey pally! The watch is all one piece - it wraps around my wrist three times in total. Pretty much best thing ever, honestly :)

  25. I feel most myself in black, too! I feel like you can never go wrong with black...it doesn't date you in pictures like other colors do. My love for wearing black head to toe began when I started working in make-up; it was a requirement! We could wear whatever we wanted (within reason) as long as it was all black. I loved it! Since fall came around, I've loved nothing more than wearing my opaque tights and dark colored dresses. Loce the skirt and ankle booties!

  29. great title for this post Cee! you look like a French Rockstar and i love it!! the detail on your skirt and that intricate updo look superb together. this season i feel like i could only wear booties the whole way through. there's so many rad styles to choose from and the cut of them is flattering with anything. LOVE the h&m ones you scored!! the watch from Bec is too cool for school, she does find the most perfect matches for you. that girl's got taste and what you've put it together with is equally lovely! i'm sure it'll be a constant feature on your delicate wrist for many years to come. xo ♥

  30. Great watch!!
I can totally sympathize, I feel more myself in black and white, but others just can't seem to handle my love of lack-of-colour.
