(Outfit Diary) Dream, Love, Journey

I live down the street from Place des Vosges. Sometimes I just have to say that to remind myself that it's true; the first six months of my year in Paris are quickly coming to an end and it all still feels like a wonderful dream - particularly on sunny days. This might sound a bit sentimental, and it probably is, but Paris has the bluest skies I've ever seen. Taking this year has been the best thing I could have done for myself; I've had the chance to go on so many wonderful adventures and to do simple things I just didn't have time for in my old life, like ballet and sketching and mid-week walks. The word journey has a bit of a false ring to it, with so many self-help books making promises about journies and self-discovery and true happiness, but I'm spending another six months in Paris and that time will be about everything but the destination {which is still unknown.} Touchstone Crystal kindly sent me a beautiful necklace inscribed with the phrase Freedom to dream, love and journey together and the words, which I would have shrugged off six months ago, seemed rather poignant - these days, I don't think at all about where I'm going, just about how I'm going to spend my time getting there. And I feel pretty lucky.

  53. Your posts are always so inspiring Cee. I secretly live vicariously through you. There are so many times I just want to get up and move to Paris, where life is more carefree and there is beauty around every corner. I know one day I will, but I need to finish school first and save a bit of money. My dream is to open a business that allows me to live anywhere in the world. I'm sure everyone wants that, but I do believe anything is possible.
I adore those shoes. That bow is so delicate and beautiful. And I of course am loving your curls. You inspire me to wear mine not straight once in a while :P xo

  72. Are you going to live out the next six months as you have the first six? Are you going to see where each day takes you or are you going to integrate more structure? Do you plan to make any more trips outside of Paris? I've really enjoyed following your Parisian adventures and look forward to what 'Paris in the springtime' has in store for Cee :)

You look like a superstar in the first photo.

    1. It's funny that you ask that, I'm actually trying to be less structured! Still in my old work habits, I guess - I have a to do list every day of about fourteen things that I have to accomplish before I get to have fun. Most of them all small things and it usually only takes me until about 2:30 pm, so the rest of the day is for fun... but I'm actually trying to be less rigid! And definitely to travel more, although as the weather gets warmer, the prices sadly get higher :(

  74. I loved this post!!! The next six months in the city of your dreams, leading up to the unknown, may very well be the foundation leading to some of the best times in your life. Embrace it all. On an outfit note, I like this rather casual look on you. You don't often wear plaid and I like how you paired it with those cigarette pants and booties!
