On a lighter note… Holiday party season is here, which is the best time of year to add a little more glitter to everything, and revamp your beauty routine. This year, I’ve worn the same make-up basically every single day and the holidays seemed like the perfect time to get out of my comfort zone with some new products, many of which, not surprisingly, I’ve totally fallen in love with. (And there’s a new video on my YouTube Channel about them, too!)

Haircare
Curls have been my go-to hairstyle since I was in high school – and I’ve been using the same set of hot rollers since back then! Crazy, I know. I finally took the plunge on trying the Conair Infiniti Pro Curl Secret, and while I was super apprehensive that the sucking mechanism would pull out my hair, it turned out to be the easiest tool to use. I’m officially obsessed. My hair is never complete without dry shampoo – I put it in the night before I do my hair for extra volume – and I recently started using AG, which I love. And of course, I always finish my curls with hairpsray; la laque noire from Kerastase gives the strongest hold I’ve ever found.

Skincare
I got a job in a department store when I was seventeen, and my older co-workers in cosmetics taught me the importance of good skincare. There is no moisturiser or serum I don’t want to try. I’ve been a fan of lip products from Fresh for years, and when they debuted their gift sets this season, I decided it was time to try their skincare, too. It turns out that their skincare products are just as good as their lip balms – the Soy Face Cleanser is especially fabulous.

Make-Up
Tis the season for all things sparkly and spiced. I discovered Beautycounter this year and their holiday Love and Lustre giftset has made my make-up bag infinitely more festive – I mean seriously, how pretty is the gold glitter gloss? I love it over a red lipstick, but even more over nude shades. And while I’m still dedicated to my signature scent (Gris Clair… by Serge Lutens), I’m swapped it out for the holidays, because Spiced Vanilla from Love Notes Perfumery just smells like Christmas, in the most sophisticated possible way.

Since this is the season of giving, I want to pass on some holiday cheer to my Canadian readers with a giveaway (and the rest of you, too, of course – the next giveaway will include you all!) Enter below for a chance to win one of two Conair Infiniti Pro Curl Secret – the contest ends on December 16, 2016 and there will be two winners. Good luck!

Bonne chance !

I am SO intrigued by that curler! It would be nice to be able to get curls done quickly – Fingers crossed!
I’m usually in the same old makeup rut because I don’t know what to do with anything, but on a total whim I placed an order at Tarte today for mascara (which I never wear), a bold lip color and a new foundation powder, so hopefully I’ll freshen up my look!

  2. Happy Friday, Cee!! I’m curled up with a hot cup of tea and enjoying our winter wonderland. So pretty + I’m SO thankful I don’t have to drive in it. Haha!! 😉 And yay, so glad you’ve been making videos again (it’s on my to-do list too) and I’ve always loved yours! And my gosh, want to try ALL the Fresh products, especially the masks, always here such good things about them… time to take the dive, me thinks! Happiest weekend pally and the countdown to our hang out is on. Yay, yay!!! xo

My favourite holiday beauty products would be a body moisturizer with some shimmer in it like Jergens. I also like Avon lip gloss in the shade Rave.

Great contest! For the holiday season, I can’t go anywhere without adding just a little shimmer on my eyes to dazzle up any look. Clinique trio eye shadows in metallics are my fave.

I don’t usually use a lot of makeup but when I do I use NARS. I never leave the house without a sprits of Bianca by Tocca. I’ll have to find another scent or I’ll have to order and shop from elsewhere because Sephora doesn’t seem to carry Bianca anymore…any suggestions?

    • So I looked into this, because I was very concerned about Sephora not carrying Bianca anymore and they do; it’s available online and in “select” stores, so probably at the giant one on Robson. I’ll check for you next time I pop in. But in the meantime, you might also like Mon Jasmin Noir L’Eau Exquise by Bvlgari or Chance by Chanel, both of which are similar to Bianca.
      xox,
