Thank goodness it’s Friday! I promise, I really do try not to talk about the weather, but after almost a month of winter sunshine, we’ve been back to grey skies and wet streets all week long. When I moved to Vancouver a decade ago, I never considered for a second that the gloomy winters might bother me – after all, escaping temperatures that routinely dip below minus 40 degrees celcius could only be a good thing, right? I may not have anticipated it,  but my struggle to stay sane when it rains for weeks straight is all too real. It turns out I just hadn’t experienced enough rain in my life before I moved to the West Coast to realise how dismal it can be…! I’m trying to stay positive and think spring-like thoughts (which includes dressing in all white, even if it means washing my white jeans after every single wear.) Wherever you are, I hope you have sunny skies – or at least the promise of some sun to come in your local weather forecast! Personally, I’ll be crossing my fingers for a change in the weather this weekend – while accepting reality, curling up under a blanket with a cup of tea and Netflix.

  1. Funnily enough, I’ve never minded the rain too much, unless of course it’s non-stop for weeks on end… but there’s something kind of lovely & tranquil about it! We usually hit our forested trail with Scout and then stop off for hot coffee after and love it! 🙂 But having said that, I’m ALL for spring like dressing to chase the grey days away and this outfit is definitely getting me excited for a change of season! Also can you believe I don’t own a pair of white jeans?! Need to change that ASAP!! xo

    • You don’t own white jeans? Oh V, there is no time like the present! I spent so many years – up to 2013 to be exact – thinking I couldn’t pull them off/would spill on them. When I finally took the plunge, I fell in love. And I’ve never looked back. They’re a wardrobe staple in my book!

I’ve always fancied myself as someone who really loves the rain and a good grey day but I guess it’s very easy to think that when you don’t have to live it day in and day out!

Winters always get me down too, rain and snow and grey that stretches endlessly is par for the course, and January is usually the worst of it, which isn’t to say it can’t still be downright cold by the time we get to April!
I do love seeing the white jeans out, especially in such a classic pairing, stripes and camel are always perfection. Hope the rain lifts soon!

HaHa Cee! I know you love the warmer weather. I would probably feel the same if I lived there. We didn’t have much of a winter here, so I was hoping for a little bit more. I love your outfit. Just great classic pieces! They always look great together.
