What a difference a few weeks can make. We arrived in Paris on an unseasonably sunny day, but the blue skies, it turned out, were just a tease – we woke up the next morning to opaque clouds, which brought with them several days in a row of very heavy rain. It was not the start to our travels that I had envisioned, because, to be totally honest, in my imagination, it’s always sunny. But we were so excited to be back that, although it was far from fun, the rain almost wasn’t a bother, though we did have to get a bit creative when it came to capturing my outfits. Luckily, Paris is a city full of beautiful columns that are perfect for hiding under to escape the rain; these particular columns belong to the Eglise de la Madeleine, a totally non-traditional Catholic church modelled after a well-preserved Roman temple in southern city of Nimes. The sun did eventually come out again, of course, and we were able to spend some lovely days exploring without having to look out from under our umbrellas – as I write this, we are much closer to the equator in Athens, so we’ve been basking in beautiful, sunny weather, but I hopeful that when we get back, spring will be in the air in Paris, too.

  2. I follow a few Parisian bloggers and from what I can gather the weather is lovely in Paris at the moment and the blossoms are out. But in the meantime, the weather in Athens sounds amazing and I’m feeling a little jealous because Vancouver is as grey / dismal as ever!! Also your outfit and that location are just so darn dreamy!! xo

I can imagine Pairs is just as beautiful, and somehow even more romantic in the rain. Of course not always ideal for outfit photos, but you look fabulous, and not at all like someone who was dodging the rain (or at least if it were me, my hair would be all frizzed out and somehow mud would have gotten splashed on me).

I can’t wait to see your photos and outfits from Greece! I’m really dreaming a warm escape right now.

  4. Love that outfit! I’ve only spent time in Paris once, and it’s been several years, but it was this exact time of year and it rained everyday – and I didn’t even care because it was so beautiful. Sounds like you feel the same! I hope Athens was incredible. xo

You look absolutely exquisite Cee! I love that skirt & top. The booties go well with it. Those columns are gorgeous. Wonderful backdrop.
