Avenue Montaigne is the shopping destination in Paris. Dior, Celine, Chanel, Louis Vuitton… beautiful boutiques from all of the most coveted brands, enclosed behind gold-tipped wrought iron fences, dot the long street. It is a place where I have to hold on tightly to my credit card – or, better yet, leave it at home when I’m planning to visit. But it is, at once, a paradise for window shopping, where the intricate design of every boutique is as luxurious and desirable as the products on sale inside. The lavender-painted Dior boutique is a personal favourite for me, despite the fact that I have never really considered myself a Dior girl; when I win the lottery (which I will have a much better chance of doing if I ever actually buy a ticket), I want to hire their design team to decorate my home with the same grey velour sofas and white-painted fire places that make their store so comfortable (and so very, very dangerous for women on a budget!) I find myself far more motivated to dress-up in Paris than I do anywhere else, because I want to feel like I live up to the grandeur of my surroundings and this city really is just the prettiest – but then again, so is this lace dress from Metisu. Since my days of pairing lace with glitter and tulle are mostly behind me, I paired it with my favourite leather jacket to give it a bit of an edge, but for a more feminine look, you could easily skip the jacket and pair it with a pretty straw hat, instead. You don’t need to be on avenue Montaigne to complete the look, but it wouldn’t hurt if you had the chance to be…!

Nous rentrons de Barcelone aujourd’hui, donc je n’ai pas assez de temps pour faire ma traduction habituelle. Je vous reviens en français des lundi et entretemps, je vous souhaite un très bon week-end !

  2. Feel like I need this entire outfit in my life, it’s so beautifully put together and I love that you added a little edge to your dress! Exactly how I prefer to wear my lace too!! As for dressing up because of your surroundings?! Heavenly and sounds like perfect reasoning to me! ❤ Plus a big yes to winning the lottery/a home decorated by the Dior team. What you described sounds seriously A-MAZING! Happiest Friday my friend, can’t wait to pop the wine later tonight and I’ll def be sending you a cheers all the way from Van! xo

What a beautiful lace dress, perfect pairing with the ‘tougher’ leather jacket! 🙂

I’d like to visit Paris one day, I’ve never been. Window shopping there would be such a treat though! )

Hope you are having a good weekend 🙂

Yes, I suppose if there was any city worth getting dressed to the nines for, even just for window shopping, Paris would be it. That lace dress is so stunning – I would happily add it to my closet!
