There was a period of time, which I knew was fleeting even was it was happening, when it felt like we had all the time in the world in Europe; the days and weeks of our adventure stretched out so far ahead of us that we almost couldn’t imagine how we would fill all of the hours. That was in early March, when we packed our bags for Greece, where these photos were taken. Athens was the first of our big expeditions and it set a high bar for the rest. Even when we came back to Paris, where we sat down together to make thoughtful lists of all the restaurants we wanted to eat in and all the museum exhibits we wanted to see, it seemed like we would have to spread things out to make each day special. And then, suddenly, I woke up this week to realize that we have already come back from Venice and by Monday the month of May will have arrived and the adventure that seemed so long will be two-thirds of the way over. They say time flies when you’re having fun and no cliche has ever felt more true. But rather than wishing we had more time, I’ve promised myself that I will make every minute of the next five weeks count – sightseeing, snacking, sipping wine and, of course, shopping…! I admit that I’ve fallen into the trap of innocently walking into Zara “just to look” and walking out with bags full of new things, because it’s just so easy to do that when there is a Zara on every corner. Before we come home, I’d love to add a few new-to-me European brands to my wardrobe, so, European friends, I’d love it if you would introduce me to your favourite local labels in the comments sections! Happy Friday.

Bon vendredi !

  1. I really, truly hate that sinking feeling when I realize/remember that my time in a given place is not infinite. But you’re so right – enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!

A beautiful day to you dear friend!! xo

Sounds like you’ve had quite an adventure though – I’ve been following it via Instagram. And you’re looking great here. The jeans are amazing.
