Well, it’s that time again: we leave Paris today. By the time you read this, we will be somewhere over the Atlantic Ocean. (Most likely making a futile attempt to get a bit of sleep while actually watching whatever movies are available on the in-flight entertainment system.) I don’t find it hard to say good-bye. That doesn’t make leaving Paris easy, even if I’ve said that I’m ready to let it go. (Only time will tell if that’s true. It’s possible I’m lying to myself to make the inevitable separation easier.) I can hardly complain – most people see Paris once in their lifetime, if they’re lucky. I’ve spent more than two years of my life here. And I’ve indulged in what probably amounts to at least four years with of croissants and cafe creme in that time. (In case you are curious, in my humble opinion, the Cafe de Flore offers the best cafe creme in Paris. The price tag is high, but it is worth every centime. There is nothing like being served coffee and steamed milk on a silver tray while sitting outside in Saint-Germain.) I’m greedy, and I always want more Paris – I can’t help it. But we won’t be back for a year, or perhaps longer. And so, I have no choice; I will have to content myself with living vicariously through all the photos we’ve taken in the past three months. I have many more to share, but for our last official day in Paris, I wanted to show you the most Parisian shoot of all. The Cafe de Flore is a veritable left bank institution, and the cafe creme is just a bonus. Once frequented by writers like Hemingway and artists like Picasso, when you spend a morning at Le Flore, you spend it walking in the footsteps – or rather, sitting in the chairs – of history. It’s hard to say what I love most about Paris, but the opportunities to experience that kind of history are high on the list.

  2. Hope you had a safe trip home Cee. Glad you had a great time! We surely enjoyed your adventures! I SUPER LOVE this outfit. I had a top like that years ago. It was white and I wore it with a black skirt. Love the one you paired it with. Very charming!

So sad your time in Paris has already come to an end. But at least I’m sure you’ve got quite a few post lined up and that will make the trip feel longer, even when you are back home. I think there is nothing better than being a bit indulgent when you are away from home, because you can’t just pop back to Cafe de Flore next week, so you should enjoy every opportunity for every sip of cafe creme.
