Charlotte Tilbury Gift of Red Carpet Skin Set

Good travel beauty sets are hard to find. I know – I spent half of our three months in Europe trying to squeeze every last bit of product from the tiny containers in my beloved Dermalogica travel set and the other half trying, without success, to find a suitable replacement when they ran out. It’s true that not everyone’s travel beauty needs are the same. But for the life of me, I cannot understand why so many travel skin care sets include shampoo and body wash in the place of a mask or body moisturiser. After all, hotels provide soap and shampoo. There is no need to bring your own on a short trip.

I never did find a suitable replacement for my travel beauty set while we were in Europe. Instead, I suffered from squeezing small amounts of my full-size products into tiny bottles. (Of course, this isn’t necessary if you aren’t travelling with only carry-on luggage. But full-size beauty products can very quickly weight down a suitcase, so I always prefer to travel with miniatures.)

Shortly after our return, I heard about the launch of the Charlotte Tilbury Gift of Red Carpet Skin set. I’m a big fan of the products from this line, particularly the skin care products (and especially Magic Cream) so I was immediately intrigued. And then thrilled, because I quickly discovered that the set doesn’t include any of the products that so up in so many travel beauty sets that I don’t find useful. There is no body wash, no shampoo or conditioner, just six glorious skin care products in adorable tiny packaging.

I received the set shortly before a trip to the cabin and immediately popped it in my suitcase. In my two days away, it proved to be everything I’m looking for in a travel beauty kit: compact and easy to fit into luggage, but full of products that pack a punch. I especially love that it includes the Goddess Clay Mask. I use this mask regularly at home, although I never considered packing it for travel. But I loved having it along on my whirlwind trip to Vancouver and New York last week, which included five flights in four days. It saved my dehydrated skin, there is no doubt about it.

I can’t imagine buying any other travel beauty sets now that I’ve used this one. But then again, I do love trying new things…! So tell me, when you travel, what skin care products do you pack?

  1. I like that more and more companies are making these. They’re not only great for travel, but also if you’re curious to try a product. I’ve heard about her Magic Cream Cee and I definitely want to try it 😀 Thanks for showcasing this set.

  2. That sounds incredible! We travel a lot as well (in fact, I have another small trip coming up next week), and like you, I always bring minis. But I agree that shampoo is so unnecessary. I’d much prefer a nice face mask as well!

  3. Make-up? What make-up… all my eye can focus on is your gorgeous Chanel card holder. Ok, I kid, sort of. Haha! 😉 But seriously have been lusting after it ever since we met up for breakfast. As for these travel sized Charlotte Tilbury products?! Oh my gosh, so pretty, so smart and I need some in my life. ASAP! Glad to know they kept your skin feeling fab while you were jet-setting to NYC. Can’t wait to hear all about it!! xo
