For me, changing my beauty routine even a little bit is a big deal. I’m not super confident about make-up application, so when I find a product that works for me, I stick with it – usually forever. But when Estee Lauder, which you all know has been one of my go-to cosmetics brands since before I started my blog, launched The Estee Edit, I was understandably intrigued. But I was also apprehensive – bear in mind that I am not exaggerating when I say that the last time I tried a new look on my own, without the help of a trained make-up artist, was some time in 2012. It’s taken some experimenting and a few false starts, but in the end, I’ve found an Estee Edit look that I love. Granted, it’s not a professional look and the only technique advice I can offer you is the same things you’ve heard everywhere else: when it comes to eyeshadow blend, blend, blend! But I’m not embarrassed to say that, particularly when talking about The Estee Edit, because the brand’s namesake, Estee Lauder, was a fabulously fearless and totally unconventional woman who always spoke her mind. The Beauty Attitudes concept that is at the heart of The Estee Edit, while thoroughly modern even now, is based on one of her famous quips from the 1950s! If you’re a local reader who is interested in learning more about The Estee Edit but, like me, aren’t a beauty expert, you can experience the brand in person tomorrow at Sephora Pacific Centre from 12 to 6 pm. The Estee Edit team will be offering a full Estee Edit experience at the store, with make-up applications based on all three of their #beautyattitudes – the barest, which is my favourite, the edgiest and the guest editor glow. There will be a selfie station with a halo light and an Estee Edit backdrop so you can capture your new look. And if it turns out you love the collection like I do and splurge on $50 or more worth of product, you’ll receive an Estee Edit tote bag, with samples of the Pore Vanishing Stick and Flash Photo Gloss or a Pink Peony Water Pack.

“Beauty is an attitude.”
– Estee Lauder
