My love of loungewear has become a joke among my friends, because although I have a (seriously) extensive wardrobe, since I started working from home a year and a half ago, I spend almost all of my time in pajamas. I suppose I shouldn’t admit to that – or at least, I suppose I should pretend to be embarrassed by my lazy attitude towards getting dressed, but I’m really not. I like to be comfortable, and the world is full of brands that allow me to do that while still looking cute (albeit it ready for a nap.) This is hardly the first time I’ve appeared in loungewear in this space – you might remember my love affair with Lazypants last summer, or my foray into luxury sleepwear with Wear Elise this winter. The truth is, my pajama collection is at least as extensive as my wardrobe, but it’s still incomplete, and when I discovered local brand Smash + Tess, I found some of those missing pieces, including the cutest ruffled shorts, well, ever. Since I’m pretty serious about being comfortable when I’m at home, I encourage my friends to dress comfortable when they’re coming over, too (and this is only partly a devious plot to make sure I get to stay in my beloved pajamas.) After a long work week, Lyndi and I got together for a girl’s night in last week and, quite frankly, wearing anything more complex than pajamas was simply not an option – we were too drained. But, to be totally honest, I think our Smash + Tess pajamas were actually cuter than any outfit I would have put together that day by a long shot, not to mention more comfortable. Not surprisingly, we perked up a bit after a few glasses of wine and a healthy dose of our favourite treats from Kernels and Karameller. Admittedly, things got a bit silly, as they so often do when you’re hanging out with your best girlfriend, and that’s exactly how it should be. We definitely also spent some time scrolling instagram while watching Netflix because, well, who are we kidding – we’re bloggers, that’s just what we do. Even if you’re not quite as enthusiastic about pajamas as I am, I’d love to know your favourite loungewear brand – I’m sure there are lots of brands out there just waiting for me to discover them!

I seriously need to up my lounge wear game – it’s all ratty old sweats and wolf shirts that I wear camping (sadly I am not at all being facetious!).

Cute pjs have been a fixation for me for quite some time, when I realized that I should not be spending my adult life in mens novelty print boxers and free logo tees. Why shouldn’t we look like we put just as much effort into our lounge wear as we do into everything else we put on?!
Plus, your girls night just looks too fun, I feel like I’m seriously missing out.
