La Prairie Skin Caviar Essence in Lotion

I have called my La Prairie Skin Caviar Essence in Lotion liquid gold, the good stuff and a miracle worker, among other things. It is an essential in my skincare regime. I’ve extolled the virtues of La Prairie skincare products in the past. And I love absolutely everything I’ve tried from their product line, there’s no doubt about it. But the Skin Caviar Essence in Lotion is in a league of its own.

When I talk about this product, I have to be honest and admit that I nearly missed out on discovering how incredible it is. We visited the La Prairie offices during NYFW last fall. The team was kind enough to gift Lyndi and I each a bottle of Skin Caviar Essence in Lotion, which was new at the time. I took mine home, placed it on my bathroom counter and… promptly forgot about it.

I know, I know. But NYFW exhausted me. And in the chaos of preparing for our move, I focussed less on skincare than I should have. Then, during our last week in Vancouver, I ran out of makeup remover. But I stubbornly refused to replace anything so close to our departure. The nearest thing I had to make-up remover was my Skin Caviar Essence in Lotion, so that’s what I used instead. For the record, it does work as a makeup remover. But with that said, I wouldn’t recommend wasting it by using it as one.

Four days after I started using my new makeup remover, I looked in the mirror and marvelled at how great my skin suddenly looked. 2017 started as a terrible year for my skin. What changed? I wondered, although I was so happy with the results that I was content not to question them too much. It took me a few hours of not-too-serious consideration before I realised the change must be because of my new “makeup remover.” So I read the product monograph. That’s when I rediscovered that La Prairie’s Skin Caviar Essence in Lotion helps all of your other skincare products absorb more readily into your skin. While removing my makeup, I had been making the rest of my skincare regime work more effectively – and it showed!

At first, I laughed at myself. But after that, I resolved never to be without a bottle of Skin Caviar Essence in Lotion. In fact, I toted the one I had to Europe. Imagine, then, my devastation when it broke in my suitcase on the way home. Despite the price point, which is high, there was no question in my mind; I had to replace it. Skincare is always worth the investment, I think. And if you’re going to invest in a product, you really can’t do better than La Prairie’s Skin Caviar Essence in Lotion.

When it comes to skincare, what products are your essentials?

Its fabulous when in an ocean of products you find something that works on your skin. I’ve never tried anything from La Prairie.
If I had to recommend a product I use and swear by is the Biotherm Aquasource Non Stop Masque. It’s amazing, I use it almost every night and have seen positive results.

  3. I have to try this Cee! Sounds dreamy! Do you know I’ve never tried anything from this brand? I always hear great things. Thanks for letting us know.

Sometimes it feels like we spend our lives and our paychecks forever searching for magic skincare in a bottle, which never does materialize. So to have found that, even by accident, is like striking gold.
