Ile Saint-Louis is a natural island in the Seine; it is a quiet, residential place that feels almost like a small village at the heart of the bustling city. A former cow pasture that was converted into a quartier during the reign of Louis XIII, many of its buildings date back to the 1600s. I love to sit at Le Saint-Regis and just watch the world go by… I can’t help but imagine how different the scenery must have been when Baudelaire, Marie Curie, Voltaire and Camille Claudel called the island home.

How pretty! I feel like spending the afternoon there would be akin to stepping back in time, everything looks so quaint, and were those cars not on the streets perhaps you really could believe it for a moment.
