The older I get, the more I start to consider the idea of signatures – a particular lip colour, a singular fragrance, a timeless handbag. Things that I love, but also things that become, in a way, part of what defines who I am and how the world sees me. When it comes to my winter wardrobe, this outfit is a perfect example of my signature look – my beloved grey coat and black scarf, both of which I wear practically every day despite the size of my coat and scarf collections; my classic RayBan Wayfarers and my modern but elegant trio bag. It’s amazing to me, how pairing the same pieces over and over – because I do wear these four pieces again and again and again – with just a few different items can completely change their look, without taking away from the simple elegance that attracted me to them in the first place. Speaking of signatures, Garance Dore’s book Love x Style x Life seems to have become my signature piece of reading material lately – there’s no denying how photogenic it is, but unlike most of the fashion books I own, I absolutely love what is between the pretty covers, too.What are your signatures?
