I was so excited to wear my denim shorts in San Francisco. It hadn’t truly been warm enough to wear them in Vancouver yet this year, and I’ve been really focused on fitness for the past few months, which I suppose meant that I thought when I put my shorts on, I would magically have the body of a completely different person. In reality, of course, I put my shorts on our first morning in the city and, much to my dismay, my legs were still my legs. This is not my way of fishing for compliments. In fact, even if every single one of you were kind enough to reassure me that my legs look just fine in these shorts, I wouldn’t really believe it. My legs have been a sore point for me since I was bopping along with Mousercises on the Disney channel in kindergarten. I have come up with exactly no effective strategies to make myself feel less self-conscious about them, including exercising regularly. But life is short and summer is hot, particularly in California, so I wore the shorts, anyway. The sky high sandals, on the other hand, I had to take off after I took a small tumble on the very large hill where we shot these photos – no matter how much I love a good heel, they just do not mix the terrain in San Francisco, and so I wound up forced way out of my shorts comfort zone, not only wearing shorts, but wearing them with sneakers. I think the last time I wore shorts and sneakers at the same time was, well, the last time I was in California, when I was barely twelve. And I survived, although I admit that I like the look of this outfit a lot better with the sandals, which are without a doubt my favourite things that I’ve found on REVOLVE this year. But, admittedly, my outfit from earlier this week is a very close second – and if you missed the REVOLVE sale this week, you’re in luck because I have a second one of those outfits to give away; details on how to enter to win are below! (Contest is open internationally. Note that the outfit being given away is a size SMALL.)

I feel you! Shorts are a hard thing to work with when it feels like everyone’s attention goes right to your legs. But I’m glad that you’ve worn them anyway (and tried doing SanFran in heels, you brave soul) because this outfit is so perfect. I’ve been following you since I was in high school and I feel like I’ve grown with you and your style! You’re so amazing, never change!

Lovely outfit, been wanting to buy some short shorts, the bohemian inspired too goes great. And as for the legs, they look amazing! We will all look back when we are old on pictures of ourselves and see how truly beautiful we were, “flaws” and all.

  4. Cee, your legs look awesome girl! I love those sandals and that top is gorgeous! Love this look on you. So pretty.

I would have been truly, jaw-droppingly impressed if you’d told me you had made your way up and down the steep San Francisco streets in those heels. While beautiful and charming, those streets are a workout! I bet your legs looked amazing by the end of the day from that alone 😉

Also, I need that eyelet top in my life!
